Shaheens defeat Oman by 74 runs in ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup

ISLAMABAD: Shaheens secured a dominant 74-run victory over Oman in their Group B match of the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

 After opting to bat first, Shaheens posted a competitive total, driven by key contributions from Rohail Nazir and others. Oman’s chase fell short as Pakistan’s bowling attack sealed the comprehensive win, strengthening their position in the tournament.

A posted a competitive total of 185/5 in their 20 overs. Qasim Akram led the charge with a steady 48 off 38 balls, while captain Rohail Nazir’s explosive 41 off 20 balls and Arafat Minhas’s quickfire 31 off 15 helped Pakistan A finish strong.

Oman’s bowlers had moments of brilliance, with Muzahir Raza picking up 2 wickets, but they struggled to contain Pakistan A’s middle-order assault.

In reply, Oman faltered early, managing only 111/7 in their 20 overs. Captain Jatinder Singh top-scored with 24, but Pakistan A’s bowlers kept a tight grip throughout the innings. Shahnawaz Dahani (1/13), Sufiyan Muqeem (1/15), and Zaman Khan (2/17) led a disciplined bowling effort that stifled Oman’s chase.

Rohail Nazir’s all-round performance, including two catches and a blistering knock, earned him the Player of the Match award as Pakistan A cruised to a comfortable win.
