Shawwal moon not sighted in Saudi Arabia, Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Friday

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Friday after the Shawwal moon was not sighted on Wednesday evening, officials confirmed.

The government of Turkey announced on Wednesday that Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated nationwide on Friday, March 20.

Similarly, Muslims in Singapore will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday, March 21, according to Singapore authorities.

The United Arab Emirates has also announced Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday, after the government received witnesses on the evening of Wednesday, from across the country.
