Shehbaz calls meeting of PDM bigwigs to discuss caretaker setup

ISLAMABAD: With only five days left before the announced dissolution of National Assembly, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday called a meeting of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and coalition parties to discuss the probable names for caretaker prime minister and formation of interim government.

According to sources, the meeting would be held through a video-link and heads of PDM parties are expected to participate.

Among those attending the meeting would be Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

With the dissolution of National Aseembly expected on August 9, the general elections would have to be held within 90 days, by November 7.
