Shehbaz hosts grand dinner for senators amid 27th constitutional amendment efforts

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday hosted a grand dinner in honour of government and allied senators, thanking them for their efforts in supporting the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz extended special gratitude to President Asif Ali Zardari and the leadership of all coalition parties for their full cooperation, saying the alliance had stood firmly behind a “national vision.”
Reflecting on the reforms in general, the premier said the 27th Amendment will represent a collective resolve to strengthen the federation, promote provincial harmony, safeguard national interests and enhance governance.
Acknowledging the role of allies, party members and all stakeholders in advancing key legislative initiatives, he noted that close coordination among coalition partners had enabled the government to achieve significant milestones. Notably, the current government is not only trying on the finalizing the above said amendment, but it also brought major reforms after passing of the 26th Amendment.
Shehbaz added that Pakistan’s recent diplomatic achievements and its improved global recognition reflected the unity within the ruling alliance. He said the country’s economic indicators were showing positive momentum, with political and economic stability now firmly on track.
