ISLAMABAD – Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), emphasized that Shehbaz Sharif holds a responsibility to be accountable to the entire nation, given his role as the former premier of Pakistan.

During his appearance on a Samaa TV program, Abbasi expressed his concern over the utilization of outdated census data for the upcoming elections, deeming it an “unjust” practice.

He firmly dismissed the likelihood of holding the general elections before the months of February or March.

Asserting the potential repercussions, Abbasi highlighted the vital intervention of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government, suggesting that the country’s situation could have deteriorated further if their governance hadn’t been established.

Discussing the anticipated return of PML-N’s leader, Nawaz Sharif, Abbasi conveyed that the decision rested solely upon Nawaz Sharif himself.

Abbasi urged Nawaz Sharif to orchestrate his return to the country ahead of the imminent elections. He additionally stressed the importance of Nawaz Sharif submitting himself before the judiciary upon his arrival, indicating it as the sole viable option.

Abbasi strongly posited that, if elected, Nawaz Sharif’s administration would render criticism towards the PDM-led government baseless.

Turning his attention to the economic landscape, Abbasi underscored that achieving political stability was pivotal in rectifying and advancing the nation’s economic trajectory.
