Shehbaz Sharif chosen over Mustafa Kamal as NA-242 candidate

KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shehbaz Sharif will contest from NA-242, the constituency of Karachi Keamari-I.

The choice of candidate comes after the appellate tribunal threw out yesterday the plea to reject the nomination papers of Shehbaz Sharif from this constituency.

This decision had earlier set the stage for a high-stakes political clash between the two ‘friendly’ parties – PML-N and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

NA-242 anticipates high-stakes showdown between PML-N, MQM

The choice to be made was between former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif and the former mayor of Karachi Mustafa Kamal. The MQM had contended that Kamal has already been actively engaging with voters in the area.

However, now it is being reported that Shehbaz Sharif will be contesting the elections from this constituency.
