ISLAMABAD: Tensions within the ranks of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have reached a boiling point as senior leaders Hamid Khan and Sher Afzal Marwat engage in a war of words.

The escalating differences have led to Marwat suspending his campaigning efforts in Sindh, showcasing a rift within the party.

Hamid Khan, a prominent lawyer and PTI senior leader, dismissed Sher Afzal Marwat’s leadership, stating that he doesn’t even know who Marwat is and considers him one of those individuals sent into parties. Expressing full support for Rauf Hassan, Khan criticized the Election Commission and the Supreme Court’s actions, claiming baseless cases against PTI’s former Chairman, Imran Khan.

Responding to the accusations, a visibly frustrated Sher Afzal Marwat took to social media, announcing the suspension of his campaign in Sindh.

Expressing disappointment over statements made by individuals like Hamid Khan and Rauf Hassan, Marwat questioned the motives behind the attacks, emphasizing that he had never spoken against them. Marwat canceled planned events in Sanghar and Nawab Shah, citing attacks from within the party’s senior ranks.

In a defiant tone, Marwat declared that until the matter is resolved by Imran Khan himself, he will not lead any rally or jalsa in Sindh, leaving the campaign halfway. He challenged Hamid Khan and Rauf Hassan to step up and lead the public, expressing discontent over attempts to sideline him from the legal team and now from the campaign field.

The internal strife within PTI raises concerns about the unity and cohesion of the party as it heads into crucial campaigning periods.
