LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC), presiding over the appeals challenging the death sentences of Abid Malhi and Shafqat Bagga, convicted in the rape case on the Sialkot Motorway, has granted the prosecution an opportunity to present its arguments.
Justices Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry and Ali Zia Bajwa of the Lahore High Court listened to the appeals.
During the proceedings, the prosecution requested a delay in presenting arguments. The court accepted the prosecutor’s request and adjourned the hearing for ten days.
In March 2021, the anti-terrorism court sentenced both criminals to death. They appealed against the decision of the trial court.
The Gujjarpura police station registered a case against the accused in 2020.
