SIALKOT: The stage is set for one of the most electrifying returns in Pakistan cricket history as the iconic Sialkot Stallions prepare to storm the field for PSL 11. With a legacy as rich as its cricketing history, the Stallions are more than just a team name – they are a symbol of pride, passion, and unrivaled success for the people of Sialkot.
Hamza Majeed, the owner of the newly minted Sialkot PSL franchise, has confirmed that the legendary name “Sialkot Stallions” will once again shine on the biggest stage of Pakistani cricket. “The name Stallions is not just a name, it’s an identity. A legacy that’s embedded in the history of cricket in Sialkot,” said Majeed. “We chose this name to honor the tradition and history of cricket in Sialkot, and most importantly, to fulfill the desires of our passionate fans.”

The return of the Stallions is seen as a major boost for the Pakistan Super League (PSL), with fans eager to witness the revival of a name that has been synonymous with success in the domestic cricket scene.
A STORIED LEGACY: THE SIALKOT STALLIONS OF THE PAST
The Sialkot Stallions were a dominant force in Pakistan’s domestic T20 cricket. Founded in 2004, they quickly became the most successful team in the National T20 Cup, securing five consecutive titles from 2005/06 to 2009/10 under the leadership of coach Azmat Rana. During this remarkable period, the Stallions set a world record for the most consecutive wins in a top-level T20 competition – an incredible 25 games in a row.
Their success extended beyond the national circuit, with the Stallions making history as the first Pakistani domestic team to receive an invitation to the prestigious Champions League Twenty20 in 2012. Despite the setbacks from the 2008 Mumbai attacks, which led to the cancellation of the original 2008 Champions League, the Stallions made their mark on the international stage and continue to be remembered for their fiery performances and world-class cricketing pedigree.

THE RETURN TO PSL: WHAT TO EXPECT
With the announcement that Sialkot’s PSL franchise is confirmed as the league’s eighth team, the city is buzzing with anticipation. Fans have already been given a glimpse of the team’s potential, as the franchise has shortlisted five possible names for the squad, including Falcons, Shaheen, Thunders, Sixers, and, of course, the legendary Stallions. After much deliberation, the franchise has opted to go with Stallions, a decision that keeps the city’s cricketing pride intact while linking the new era of PSL with the timeless legacy of Sialkot cricket.
“The name Stallions holds deep meaning, not only because of our past success but because it embodies the spirit of Sialkot,” Majeed added. “It will be a proud moment for us and the entire cricketing community.”
As the PSL expands to eight teams for the first time, the Sialkot Stallions are ready to take their place among the elite. The franchise has promised big surprises in the coming weeks, with details on the team’s new logo, kit, and player selection strategy expected soon.
A NEW CHAPTER: BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE
Co-owner Kamil Khan shared some exciting insights into the squad-building process. “We are focused on building a competitive team with the perfect mix of top international talent and a strong local core,” said Khan. “We are going to ensure that Sialkot Stallions are not just about the name, but about putting together a formidable squad that can compete with the best.”
In line with the new auction system introduced for PSL 11, the Stallions will be aiming to make their mark in the draft, with a keen focus on attracting global stars while nurturing local talent. The inclusion of new administrative changes for the 11th season, including the abolition of mentors and the “right to match” concept, means that every franchise, including the Stallions, will be working hard to secure the best players for their squad.

A GLORIOUS REVIVAL AWAITS
The return of Sialkot Stallions is more than just the rebranding of a team; it’s a revival of a legacy that transcends time. With their proud history, rich tradition, and fierce determination, the Stallions are ready to make their presence felt in PSL 11. Fans, players, and experts alike are eagerly awaiting the official unveiling of the team’s identity, including its logo and kit, which are sure to be a visual representation of Sialkot’s cricketing heritage.
As PSL 11 draws near, all eyes will be on the Sialkot Stallions, as they look to write a new chapter in their already storied history. With Hamza Majeed at the helm, this promises to be a season to remember.
