WEB DESK: Sikh organisations across the world have strongly condemned the recent threat issued by India’s defence minister regarding an attack on Sindh, declaring that they stand firmly with Pakistan against what they described as New Delhi’s ongoing oppression and aggression.
According to statements issued by Sikh leadership, several groups have openly refused to support what they termed “Modi’s terrorist agenda” and instead called upon Sikh soldiers and youth to align themselves with Pakistan in the event of conflict. Sikh leaders have urged serving Sikh personnel in the Indian military to refuse participation in any action targeting Pakistan, invoking international laws that allow soldiers to abstain from wars that violate their conscience.
The organisation Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), the largest Sikh advocacy movement, has gone a step further, formally urging Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir to open a special enlistment pathway for Sikh volunteers from Indian-occupied Punjab. SFJ chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said Pakistan should immediately allow Sikh recruitment so volunteers can help defend Sindh if hostilities escalate.
Pannun added that thousands of Sikhs worldwide are ready to join a dedicated Sikh Defence Unit if Pakistan approves registration protocols. SFJ has proposed creating a separate roster of Sikh volunteers and deploying the unit specifically for Sindh’s protection.
The group stressed that its stance is rooted in UN international law, which grants soldiers the right to refuse participation in wars they deem immoral. Sikh leaders said global opinion increasingly supports Pakistan’s position while rejecting India’s “war-mongering and destabilisation agenda.”
