Sindh announces winter vacations for educational institutions

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced winter vacations for schools and colleges across the province.
According to the Sindh Education Department’s steering committee, the annual winter break will be observed from December 22 to December 31.
A spokesperson for the education department said that all public and private educational institutions will reopen on January 1. However, supplementary board examinations will continue as scheduled during the holidays, the spokesperson said.
Earlier, Balochistan and Punjab announced the schedule for winter holidays in educational institutions.
According to Balochistan’s education department, all public and private schools located in the province’s cold regions will remain closed from December 16 for two and a half months. The extended break is part of the province’s annual winter schedule, implemented to protect students from severe temperatures, snowfall and disruptions caused by harsh weather.
Punjab hs also released its winter holiday calendar. Schools across the province will begin their break on December 23, 2025, with the holidays continuing until January 11 2026. Both public and private schools are set to reopen on January 12, which will also mark the start of the new academic session.
