Sindh bans approval of building maps

KARACHI: The Sindh local government has enforced a ban on the approval of architectural designs for various urban structures, including residential dwellings and commercial plazas, throughout the city.

The Local Government Department has issued the notification on the instructions of the Interim Minister for Local Government, Housing, Town Planning, and Rehabilitation, Mubeen Jamani. These stringent restrictions will extend to the Sindh Building Control Authority and all associated Development Authorities.

Furthermore, these restrictions will apply uniformly to all categories of building and layout plans. The immediate enforcement of these constraints is emphasized in accordance with the department’s official notification.

Entities such as the Karachi Development Authority, Malir Development Authority, Lyari Development Authority, Hyderabad Development Authority, Sukkur Development Authority, and the Town Planning Department are all comprehensively bound by these regulations.
