Sindh food authority enforces restrictions ahead of e-challan launch

KARACHI: The Sindh government has introduced important administrative measures in the Food Authority to ensure the effective and transparent implementation of the e-challan system.

According to food ministry in the province, temporary restrictions will remain in place until March 13, 2026, to streamline operations under the new digital system. During this period, all transfers, postings, and deputation extensions within the Food Authority are suspended to maintain administrative stability and transparency.

Provincial Minister Makhdoom Mehmood-uz-Zaman said the newly formed governing body will oversee the reform process, ensuring accountability and effective performance across the institution.

Director General Shehzad Fazal Abbasi has issued a notification instructing all staff to follow the prescribed rules while performing their duties under the e-challan system.

The Minister emphasized that the initiative aims to provide transparent and efficient operations, ensuring the public receives quality food without disruption. Officials added that these steps are crucial to strengthen food quality monitoring in Sindh and maintain public trust in the system.
