Sindh Governor’s IT training programme to benefit 500,000 students

KARACHI: In a significant move towards enhancing digital literacy, the free-of-charge Information Technology (IT) training programme, initiated by the Sindh Governor, has been launched as of Tuesday, February 6.

The newly constructed marquee at the Governor House will be the venue for these training classes.

According to a statement by the spokesperson for Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, the IT classes will be conducted daily in three sessions, each lasting three hours.

The scheduled timings for the classes are 9 am to noon, 2 pm to 5 pm, and 7 pm to 10 pm, catering to individuals with different schedules and commitments.

The spokesperson highlighted that the initiative aims to accommodate a significant number of students, with 50,000 attending in-person classes at the Governor House premises and an additional 450,000 receiving IT training through online platforms.

This move underscores the commitment of the Sindh Governor to bridge the digital divide and provide accessible IT education to a broad spectrum of students.

The programme not only embraces traditional classroom settings but also leverages online learning methods to reach a wider audience, ensuring inclusivity in the journey towards digital empowerment.

As the classes commence, it is anticipated that this initiative will play a pivotal role in fostering technological skills among the youth, contributing to the overall development of the region.
