WEB DESK: Sources indicate a significant reshuffle in senior positions within the Sindh Police is under consideration as Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon is set to retire today.
According to reports, there is a strong possibility that Javed Alam Odho, the current chief of Karachi Police, may be transferred and appointed as the IG Sindh.
In a corresponding move, Azad Khan, who is currently serving as the Additional IG of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh, is likely to be appointed as the new Karachi Police Chief.
Javed Alam Odho has been heading the Karachi Police, a critical and high-pressure post and his potential elevation to the provincial police chief’s role would be a major career shift.
Azad Khan, with his experience in counter-terrorism operations at the provincial level, is seen as a strong candidate to take over the helm of the country’s largest metropolitan police force.
An official notification regarding these high-profile appointments is expected soon.
