Sindhi Poet Dr Akash Ansari’s death takes a new turn

HYDERABAD: Police have revealed that Sindhi Poet Dr Akash Ansari was murdered first and then his body was burnt.

The renowned Sindhi poet, 69, died when a fire erupted in his house located in Citizen Colony, Hyderabad on Saturday.

Talking to a private news channel, SSP Dr. Farukh Ali Lanjar said that the investigation into the death of Dr. Akash Ansari has proved that his death was not accidental and the matter is being investigated further.

He said we are still awaiting the final post-mortem report, but the doctors have confirmed that Dr Akash’s death was not accidental.

“Dr Akash was murdered first, and then his body was burnt. He and his foster son were having some issues.

According to the initial post-mortem report the dead body bore signs of torture, and he was killed with a sharp object. The police have arrested his foster son Latif Aksah and the driver.

Latif had claimed that Akash was asleep when a fire broke out in his room at around 8:30am.

The police further added that the poet had filed a case against his foster son in 2024 but later buried the hatchet.
