KARACHI: In a revelation that has left Karachi’s criminal masterminds utterly befuddled, Sindh’s caretaker Interior Minister, Brigadier (retd) Haris Nawaz, has unveiled his ingenious plan to thwart mobile snatchers: hide your phones in places where they can’t be stolen.
Amid the growing wave of crime in Karachi, which includes mobile and motorcycle snatching, citizens have been left scratching their heads as to how to safeguard their beloved gadgets. Daily videos of audacious snatchers have become a norm on social media, but fear not, Brigadier Haris Nawaz is here with his ground-breaking advice.
“Keep your mobile phones in those places where they can’t get stolen,” declared the interim CM in a recent statement, as if he had just unravelled the mysteries of the universe. But wait, there’s more! He also astutely recommended the use of hidden pockets, presumably to bamboozle criminals with their phones’ newfound invisibility.
In a display of boundless wisdom, the minister urged citizens to assist the government and police in the fight against crime. Clearly, he’s a master of stating the obvious, a true visionary!
Unsurprisingly, the minister’s ground-breaking advice was met with a tsunami of criticism from netizens who marvelled at the sheer brilliance of such a novel solution. Multiple interpretations of the interim minister’s advice have come forth, but people are still unable to match his genius.
No single solution has yet come to light, even from the collective social media population focused at decoding the interim minister’s sagacious advice.
Apparently, until that happens, we are all just supposed to wait patiently for mobile snatchers to have a change of heart.
In the first three months of 2023, over 21,000 cases of street crimes were reported in the provincial capital, and we can only hope that more visionary solutions are on the horizon to keep Karachi safe from the evil clutches of hidden pocket-evading criminals.
