Sit-in to continue for months if demands not met, warns JI’s Naeem

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman announced on Saturday that the sit-in will persist for months if the government does not meet their demands.
While addressing the sit-in in Rawalpindi on Saturday night, the JI leader stated that if their demands regarding high electricity bills and rising taxes are not addressed, they will escalate their protest by staging a sit-in in front of the Parliament House.
He further stated that the sit-in on Murree Road today and tomorrow will turn into a historic rally.

He added that JI might begin their march following the rally. He expressed concern that the government could use tactics to wear out the protesters and engage them in a prolonged confrontation.
