Six siblings were killed after the roof of their house collapsed in the Rahimabad area of Alpuri tehsil in Shangla district on Monday, rescue officials said.

According to Rescue officials, seven children were trapped under the rubble when the roof caved in. Six of them died on the spot, while a young girl was pulled out alive.

The deceased children, identified as Nazira, Samira, Rizwan, Nayyab, Haya Noor and Umaira Bibi, were between the ages of five and 14.

Police said the children’s father, Jehan Bashir, had passed away some time ago, and the family was living in a mud-built house that was vulnerable.

The incident comes amid reports of similar accidents in northern Pakistan, including another house collapse in Chilas’ Tangir Lark area that killed four people and injured two others.
