Six terrorists killed, nine arrested in Balochistan operation

QUETTA: Security forces killed six terrorists and arrested nine suspects during an operation in the Saran Tangi area on the outskirts of Quetta, sources said on Tuesday.

The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation against terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan under “Operation Shaban-2”, the sources said.

Six terrorists were killed during the operation, while nine suspects were arrested, according to the security sources.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the terrorists, the sources said.

The sources said operations against terrorists would continue until the last militant was eliminated.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti praised the security forces for the operation, saying six Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists had been killed and nine suspects arrested.

“The recovery of a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the terrorists is a significant achievement,” Bugti said.

He said the sacrifices of security forces in the fight against terrorism were commendable and that operations against militants and their facilitators would continue without interruption.

Bugti said there would be no compromise on maintaining law and order in Balochistan and protecting the lives and property of the people.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the security forces for the operation and the killing of six terrorists.

“The security forces thwarted the nefarious designs of the terrorists,” Naqvi said.

He said the personnel of the security forces were the pride of the nation and that the people stood alongside them in the fight against terrorism.
