WEB DESK: Iconic American rock band Skid Row announced the departure of its frontman and lead vocalist Erik Grönwall on Wednesday.
Grönwall’s exit from the band has been described as “amicable” with no ill-feelings from either party. Many have attributed his departure as focusing on his health following a tough battle with leukemia.
The rock bank that formed in 1986 in New Jersey, United States, announced Grönwall’s replacement – Lzzy Hale.

Lzzy Hale is arguably the most famous female singer in current rock scene, self-styled as “Ambassador of Rock”. The singer rose to stardom as part of Halestorm, a hard rock band she formed with her brother Arejay Hale in 1997.
Halestorm has seen significant success since its inception. In 2012, the band’s single “Love Bites (So Do I)” peaked at number 16 spot on Billboards’ US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. It was certified “gold” by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) with half a million units sold. The song also won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in 2013.
Similarly, the band’s third album “Into the Wild Life” released in 2015 peaked at number 5 on Billboard 200.
