Sleuths to be rewarded for seizing smuggled goods, vehicles

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has amended its Reward Rules, 2012, to include officials of law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies for rewards.

The FBR will reward aw enforcement agencies officials who assist or carry out anti-smuggling activities or will be instrumental in seizure of smuggled goods and vehicles only after confirmed by the respective Collectorate of Customs.

The FBR issued a notification on Wednesday, stating that the eligible officers would be entitled to rewards for their meritorious conduct in seizing smuggled goods and vehicles, after the realization of part or whole of the duty and taxes involved in such cases.

Previously, only Pakistan Customs officials were eligible for such rewards.
