WEB DESK: The anticipated wedding of Indian cricket vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal has been abruptly cancelled, with the initial reason of a family medical emergency now being overshadowed by explosive online allegations of infidelity.
The couple, who had become a celebrated pair in Indian sports and entertainment circles, were scheduled to marry on November 23, 2025. The ceremony was officially postponed just hours before it was to begin, with statements citing the hospitalisation of Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, due to cardiac symptoms. He has since been discharged and is reported to be in stable condition at home.
However, the narrative shifted dramatically when a social media user put forth a series of detailed claims, suggesting the wedding’s cancellation was directly linked to Palaash’s alleged unfaithfulness. The viral post accuses the composer of being caught in an intimate moment with the couple’s wedding choreographer, Nandika Dwivedi. The claim states that Mandhana’s close friend, fellow cricketer Shreyanka Patil, discovered the pair, leading to a confrontation.

According to the unverified account, the situation escalated physically, with Smriti’s brother allegedly assaulting Palaash and leaving him injured. The user further alleged that Nandika Dwivedi fled the venue, while Palaash’s sister, prominent playback singer Palak Muchhal, subsequently brought her brother back to Mumbai. The same source also accused Palaash of hiring public relations firms to propagate the cover story involving the family health crisis.

These claims follow the recent online circulation of flirtatious direct messages, purportedly sent by Palaash to another woman named Mary. In those screenshots, the composer reportedly lamented his long-distance relationship with Mandhana, describing it as “dead” due to their infrequent meetings.
Adding fuel to the fire, Mandhana has deleted all wedding-related content from her social media profiles, including a video of Palaash’s romantic proposal at the DY Patil Stadium, the very ground where she recently celebrated her World Cup victory.
While the specific allegations involving Nandika Dwivedi remain unconfirmed by any official party, the confluence of events has cast a dark shadow over what was once a highly publicised and celebrated union, leaving fans and the media searching for answers.
