SNGPL announces uninterrupted gas supply this winter

LAHORE: Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) announced the gas supply timings, stating that domestic consumers will receive uninterrupted gas from 5AM to 10PM.

The company clarified that gas interruptions usually occur due to the use of compressors. Since there is sufficient gas in the system, load shedding has been eliminated during winter.

With the onset of winter in Pakistan, complaints about low gas pressure increase across the country. Domestic consumers are the most affected in such situations.

Due to low gas pressure, not only are meals like breakfast and lunch delayed, but there is also no hot water available for bathing, nor can gas heaters be used to warm homes.

To avoid this situation, many consumers illegally install compressors to increase gas pressure from the pipeline, which draws gas from other homes and redirects it to their own homes.

A gas compressor is an electrical device that pulls gas from the pipeline and delivers it to stoves, geysers, or heaters.

When a compressor is used, gas fills homes, which can result in suffocation during sleep, fires, and explosions.

Using a compressor will increase gas consumption, leading to higher bills, which can be difficult to pay. Gas also poses a risk to human life, and accidents caused by compressors can lead to financial and property losses.
