SNGPL launches hybrid solar water heater with electric backup

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has launched a new hybrid solar water heater that uses solar energy as well as electricity as a backup to heat water.

The company introduced the system through a video shared on its official X account, under the title “Now heat water smartly.”

According to SNGPL, the electric backup allows consumers to heat water even when sunlight is insufficient or weather conditions are unfavorable.

The hybrid system can operate through both solar energy and electricity, offering consumers an alternative for water heating during periods of low sunlight.

The water heater also comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to control the temperature and heating remotely.

The system has a storage capacity of 200 litres and can keep water hot for up to 24 hours.

SNGPL said the hybrid solar water heater is suitable for domestic consumers as well as hotels, restaurants, hospitals and laundries.

The company has fixed the price of the hybrid solar water heater at Rs128,893. Free shipping and installation will be provided, while consumers can also purchase the system through a 12-month interest-free installment plan.
