Sohail Muhammad Laghari appointed Supreme Court Registrar

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi has appointed Sohail Muhammad Laghari as the Registrar of the Supreme Court, according to an official notification issued on Saturday.
Laghari previously served as Secretary of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) and earlier held the post of Registrar of the Sindh High Court. The court’s statement described him as a professional with extensive experience in judicial administration and institutional affairs.
Alongside this appointment, several key administrative changes were announced as part of ongoing institutional reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency and improving judicial service delivery.
According to the Supreme Court’s press release, Abid Rizwan Abid, a former District and Sessions Judge of the Lahore High Court, has been appointed as Secretary of the Supreme Judicial Council, while Fakhar uz Zaman, who previously served as Additional Registrar (Administration), has been posted as Director General (Reforms).
Deputy Registrar Muhammad Abbas Zaidi has been given additional charge as Additional Registrar (Judicial), whereas Zulfiqar Ahmad and Muhammad Safdar Mahmood have been appointed as Additional Registrars at the Karachi and Lahore Branch Registries, respectively. Similarly, Mujahid Mahmood will serve as Additional Registrar at the Peshawar Branch Registry, and Fawad Ahmad has been assigned charge as Additional Registrar (Administration).
