WEB DESK: South African footballer Jaden Adams has passed away at the age of 25, the country’s sport ministry confirmed.
Adams represented South Africa at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he featured in all three of the team’s group-stage matches.
The midfielder, who also played as a winger, scored two goals during the FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign and was considered one of South Africa’s emerging talents.
Adams played his club football for Mamelodi Sundowns and had represented the national team just weeks before his death.
The news of his passing sparked tributes from the football community, with fans and teammates expressing condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.
