KARACHI: South Air, a private domestic airline, launched its scheduled regional flight operations on Thursday, according to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).
The airline began its domestic services from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, marking an expansion of the airport’s domestic connectivity.
The first scheduled flights are operating from Karachi to Islamabad and Quetta, while services to Peshawar, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur and Gwadar will also be launched, PAA officials said.
According to authorities, South Air will initially operate one weekly flight on the Karachi-Turbat route and three weekly flights between Karachi and Bahawalpur. The airline plans to further expand its network in the coming days.
The PAA said the addition of South Air’s services would strengthen Jinnah International Airport’s domestic flight network and improve air connectivity between Karachi and several major cities across Pakistan.
