ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that all selected national squad players will be barred from participating in other leagues following the Pakistan team’s T20 series against Sri Lanka.
The notification covers not only the upcoming Sri Lanka T20I series in January 2026 but also refers to Pakistan’s T20 tour of Australia.
Earlier this week, the PCB released the full schedule for the Sri Lanka tour. According to the announcement, Pakistan’s men’s T20I squad will travel to Sri Lanka next month to play a three-match series against the Sri Lankan Lions.
The Sri Lanka T20 series is part of Pakistan’s preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. All three matches will be held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla: the first T20 on January 7, the second on January 9, and the final on January 11.

This tour will provide Pakistan with valuable match practice ahead of the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled from February 7 to March 8, 2026. Pakistan has been placed in Group ‘A’ and will play all their World Cup fixtures in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
