Summer vacations announced for Islamabad schools

ISLAMABAD: Following the announcement of summer vacations in Punjab, Sindh and KPK, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) on Friday announced summer vacations for all schools in Islamabad from June 5.

A notification regarding summer vacations in Islamabad schools has been issued.

As per the notification, all education institutions under the ambit of FDE will close for summer holidays from June 1, 2025 till August 1, 2025. The schools will reopen from Monday August 4, 2025.

Furthermore, the timings for single-shift educational institutions will start from 7:30 am till 12:30 pm from May 26 (Monday) until the commencement of the summer vacation, as per the notification.

Heads of double shift schools have been advised to manage evening schedule accordingly.

Early summer vacations announced for Punjab schools

Meanwhile the Punjab government has announced that all public and private schools across the province will start summer vacations from May 28 to August 14, in view of the ongoing heatwave.

The decision was approved by Punjab Chief Minister after consultations with the School Education Department and other concerned authorities. A formal notification has also been issued.

The Sindh Government has also announced summer vacations for all public and private educational institutions across Sindh from June 1 till July 31.

Schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will observe summer holidays from June 1 till August 31st.
