Sydney Sixers reveal ‘Babaristan’ Fan Zone ahead of BBL season

ISLAMABAD: The second-placed Sydney Sixers have unveiled the “Babaristan” Fan Zone in honour of Pakistan’s cricket star Babar Azam, ahead of the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) 2025–26 season.
The franchise made the announcement across its official social media platforms, captioning: “Introducing Babaristan — A Fan Zone Like No Other,” which quickly sparked excitement among cricket fans in both Australia and Pakistan.
In its statement, the Sixers said: “We’re celebrating cricket culture like never before with Babaristan – a fan zone dedicated to Pakistan’s star batter, Babar Azam.”
Babar Azam also took to his social media to welcome all Sydney Sixers fans. In a short video clip shared on the team’s official Facebook page, the BBL player said, “Hello everyone… I am very excited to invite you to Babaristan Sports Zone at the Sydney Sixers’ home matches at the SCG.”
Reminding fans of the thrill of BBL matches at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), the seasoned batter added, “Let’s bring your passion and make the SCG our home.”
Babaristan Fan Zone
The Babaristan Fan Zone will be open during all major Sydney Sixers home matches at the Sydney Cricket Ground, starting December 17 against Adelaide Strikers. The competition will continue through January 16, next year, including fixtures against Melbourne Stars, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, and Sydney Thunder.
Big Bash League team standings
Eight teams compete in the Big Bash League each season. Currently, the Hobart Hurricanes top the standings, followed by the Sydney Sixers in second place, while the Adelaide Strikers sit at the bottom.
Total participating teams
There are 8 teams in total participating in the upcoming tournament. These teams include: Hobart Hurricanes, Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Melbourne Renegades, Brisbane Heat, and Adelaide Strikers.
The BBL much-anticipated 15th edition will feature 44 matches, scheduled in an early-evening slot from December 14, 2025, to January 25, 2026.
