CHENNAI: India posted a commanding total of 256/4 in their Super 12 Group 1 clash against Zimbabwe in the T20 World Cup, setting the visitors a stiff target of 257 to chase.

Abhishek Sharma led the way with a fluent 55, while Hardik Pandya contributed a well-paced 50. Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 44, helping India consolidate their innings in the latter overs. Ishan Kishan added 38 and Suryakumar Yadav 33, with Sanju Samson scoring 24 before being the first wicket to fall.

Zimbabwe bowlers Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, and Tendai Maposa picked up wickets, but India’s aggressive strokeplay kept the opposition at bay. The Men in Blue maintained a run rate of 12.80, scoring 80 runs in the final five overs without losing a wicket.
