Quentin Tarantino scraps tenth, final movie starring Brad Pitt

WEB DESK: Iconic director and filmmaker Quentin Tarantino scrapped his much-anticipated project “The Movie Critic” that to be the final, tenth movie of his career.
The movie was set to star Brad Pitt and would have marked their third collaboration following “Inglourious Basterds” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” Rumours also circulated about potential cameos from actors who had appeared in Tarantino’s previous films.

“The Movie Critic” was to be set in 1977 California and centered around a real-life and obscure movie reviewer who wrote for a magazine. Tarantino reportedly drew inspiration from his own experiences. In an interview, he shared that he once encountered a snarky but smart movie critic while working as a teenager.
Fans and fellow industry insiders alike were shocked when he announced the news of cancelling the project. According to sources, the acclaimed director merely “changed his mind” on creating the movie. Instead, he has reportedly already started seeking another project for his tenth movie.
Although fans of the acclaimed director were disappointed by the news, they were comforted by the fact that they would be able to get at least one more Tarantino movie before his retirement.
Quentin Tarantino is known for his distinctive movie-making style characterised by bold colours, stylised violence and extensive dialogue featuring profanity.
He began his career with the independent crime film “Reservoir Dogs” in 1992 before receiving mainstream and critical acclaim with the now-cult classic “Pulp Fiction”. Pulp Fiction would be a resounding success for the director, with the movie earning an Academy Award (Oscar) for “Best Original Screenplay”.
Tarantino is known to dabble in different genres, from martial arts-inspired movies to “spaghetti western” to even blaxploitation genre. He masterfully weaves together old comic books-inspired colours with violence and translates it to a wide array of genres.
Other famous movies of Quentin Tarantino include “Grindhouse”, “Inglourious Basterds”, “Django Unchained” and “Kill Bill” series.
Despite his movies courting huge controversy, he remains one of highly respected and acclaimed director of his era.
