Wembley Stadium recognised and honoured Taylor Swift’s achievement of performing at the venue eight times in a single tour by presenting her with a custom turquoise guitar.

LONDON: Wembley Stadium recognised and honoured Taylor Swift achievement of performing at the venue eight times in a single tour by presenting her with a custom turquoise guitar.

In a post on image-sharing platform Instagram, the official account of Wembley Stadium wrote that “In recognition of becoming the first solo artist to play Wembley Stadium eight times on a single tour, we gifted Taylor Swift her own personalised Wembley guitar”.

The post cheekily ended with “So long, Taylor. It was enchanting”.

The guitar features the inscription “So long, Taylor, it’s been a Wembley love story” and lists her performance dates: June 21-23 and August 15-20.

The stadium’s note congratulates Swift for becoming the highest-grossing female artist at Wembley and expresses hope that the guitar will serve as a lasting memento of her record-setting performances.

Taylor Swift’s eight performances at Wembley surpass Michael Jackson’s previous record of seven shows at the stadium during his Bad World Tour in 1988.

The Eras Tour began in March 2023 and includes these record-breaking Wembley dates as part of its European leg.

The tour has also set other records. In June, Swift’s Edinburgh concert caused seismic activity. Similarly, her Wembley performances set a new record for mobile data usage at a single concert, with 5.57 TB consumed—equivalent to streaming her entire music catalogue for ten years, according to mobile provider EE.

The tour faced challenges in August when a disrupted terrorist plot in Vienna led to the cancellation of three shows in that city.

However, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that the London dates would proceed as planned. A police spokesperson stated, “There is no indication that the ongoing investigations in Austria will affect the upcoming events in London.”

Swift’s Wembley performances included tracks like “London Boy” and “So Long London,” with special guests such as Hayley Williams, Ed Sheeran, Jack Antonoff, and Florence Welch.

At her final Wembley show on August 20, Swift thanked her fans, noting her achievement of performing eight times at the venue and expressing her deep appreciation.
