Terry Crews has spoken emotionally after his wife, Rebecca King-Crews, revealed she has been quietly battling Parkinson’s disease for more than a decade.
The 60-year-old shared that she was formally diagnosed in 2015 after years of symptoms, but chose to keep her condition private until now.
Speaking in a joint interview, she said she is finally seeing signs of improvement after undergoing a newly approved procedure designed to ease symptoms.
“I feel good,” she said, revealing she can now write with her right hand again for the first time in years.
‘I’m choked up’: Terry Crews reacts
Crews admitted he became emotional watching his wife regain abilities she had lost during her battle.
“To watch her write her name for the first time in three years… I’m choked up just thinking about it,” he said.
He described her as “the rock” of their family and praised her strength through years of physical and emotional challenges.
Breakthrough procedure brings hope
Rebecca said the treatment has already improved symptoms on one side of her body, including balance and coordination.
She is expected to undergo a second procedure later this year to address the other side, as part of an ongoing recovery process.
While still early in her recovery, she said the results have given her renewed hope.
Why she is speaking out now
After more than a decade of living with Parkinson’s privately, Rebecca said she felt ready to share her story.
She explained that her goal is to raise awareness about emerging treatments and help others facing similar conditions.
“I don’t believe in telling my story just so you can feel sorry for me,” she said, adding that she hopes to highlight what she described as a new frontier in treatment.
She also noted that the procedure remains expensive and is not yet widely accessible.
A long health journey
Rebecca has faced serious health challenges before. In 2020, she underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Despite everything, she remains determined to keep moving forward.
“I don’t believe that you just lay down and die just because you got a diagnosis,” she said.
Her story has now sparked renewed attention around Parkinson’s awareness, with Crews standing firmly by her side throughout the journey.
