‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ won over Netflix fans, now it’s coming to an end

Netflix is bringing The Lincoln Lawyer to an end, with the hit legal drama officially set to wrap after its upcoming season.

The Manuel Garcia-Rulfo-led series will conclude with season five, marking the end of one of Netflix’s most successful drama titles in recent years. Filming on the final season is already underway, although the streaming platform has yet to announce an official premiere date.

For fans of Mickey Haller, the news marks the beginning of the end for the lawyer who famously runs his legal practice out of the back of a Lincoln Town Car.

Based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels, The Lincoln Lawyer first premiered in 2020 and steadily built a loyal audience, becoming one of Netflix’s standout legal dramas. Garcia-Rulfo’s portrayal of defence attorney Mickey Haller helped turn the series into a streaming favourite, with viewers following the twists of his high-stakes cases season after season.

The show’s ending was confirmed alongside another major Netflix farewell.

Emily in Paris is also set to conclude with its upcoming sixth season, ending the journey of Lily Collins’ Emily Cooper after years of international popularity. Collins shared the update directly with fans in a behind-the-scenes production video, describing season six as the final chapter of Emily’s story.

Despite the bittersweet ending, the team behind The Lincoln Lawyer says the final season offers an opportunity to close the story the right way.

Co-showrunners and executive producers Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez said they were grateful for the chance to properly land the series while potentially opening the door for some characters’ futures beyond the show.

Meanwhile, Emily in Paris leaves behind a major cultural footprint. Since debuting in 2020, the series became one of Netflix’s biggest global hits, spending weeks in the streamer’s Global Top 10 rankings, topping charts in dozens of countries and even influencing fashion trends.

Netflix has not yet revealed premiere dates for the final seasons of either show. For now, fans of The Lincoln Lawyer and Emily in Paris will have to prepare for one final chapter.
