Thirty-five killed, 30 injured in Syria bus collision

WEB DESK: At least 35 people were killed and 30 others injured after two passenger buses collided in Syria on Saturday, Reuters reported, citing the state-run news agency SANA.
According to a Health Ministry official, the accident occurred on the Deir al-Zor–Damascus highway.
The collision involved a bus carrying members of the Internal Security Forces and a civilian passenger bus, the Interior Ministry said.
SANA reported that helicopters from the Defence Ministry assisted in evacuating the injured and recovering the bodies, transporting them from Palmyra Airport to a military hospital in Homs.
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani expressed his condolences to the families of those killed and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
