Three professors of Abbottabad college die on same day

ABBOTTABAD: Tragedy struck the academic community of Abbottabad on Wednesday as three senior professors of Government Post Graduate College No-1 passed away on the same day, leaving students, faculty, and the wider educational circle in deep shock.
The deceased teachers were Prof Naveed Khan of the Pakistan Studies department, Prof Majid Khan of the economics department and Prof Fazal Rahman, chairman of the Islamic Studies department.
Sources said that all three were widely respected for their academic contributions, teaching expertise, and exemplary character.
According to the college administration, Prof Naveed Khan and Fazal Rahman died due to heart-related illnesses, while Prof Majid Khan had been battling cancer for a long period and was under treatment.
Their deaths have created an irreplaceable void not only within the college but across the wider academic community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
College faculty, students, and administrators expressed profound grief over the loss, noting that the three educators had devoted their lives to promoting knowledge and nurturing the intellectual and moral development of their students.
Former and current students have also taken to social media to pay tribute, sharing messages of respect and mourning the loss of mentors who guided thousands of young minds.
Funeral arrangements have been announced for the deseased.
Prof Majid Khan’s funeral prayer will be held at 2 pm in Kary Raigi, Galyat; Prof Fazal Rahman’s prayer will take place at 3 pm in Nawan Shehr, Abbottabad; and Prof Naveed Khan’s funeral will be conducted in his native area of Bannu.
Educational and social circles have prayed for the elevation of the departed souls and patience for their families, describing the deaths as a significant loss to the academic world.
Abbottabad’s educational community remains deeply saddened by the sudden passing of the three esteemed professors.
