Three suspects arrested after separate police encounters in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Three suspects were arrested in injured condition during three separate alleged police encounters across Hyderabad within the span of an hour, while three of their accomplices managed to escape, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, an alleged drug dealer was arrested after an encounter within the limits of Naseem Nagar police station. Two of his accomplices fled the scene.

In a separate incident, an alleged motorcycle thief was arrested in an injured condition following an encounter in the jurisdiction of Tando Yousuf police station, while his accomplice escaped.

In another encounter within the limits of the SITE police station, police arrested an alleged robber in an injured condition after an exchange of fire. His accomplice also managed to flee, according to a police spokesperson.

Police said weapons and stolen motorcycles were recovered from the arrested suspects.

The suspects were wanted in cases involving drug trafficking, motorcycle theft and other serious offences, police added.

Raids are underway in different parts of the city to apprehend the fleeing suspects, the police spokesperson said.
