PESHAWAR: A traffic police official has been suspended in Peshawar for writing offensive language on a traffic challan ticket issued to a citizen.

The Peshawar traffic police’s greeting of “salam” slogan turned out to be a mere façade, as the official resorted to discourteous language instead of writing the motorist’s name on the ticket for traffic violation.

The affected citizen explained that he had committed a minor traffic infraction related to lane violations.

When stopped by the traffic official, he informed him that he was not familiar with the area, and that he worked as a deputy clerk the educational department.

In response, the officer in question, Roman Shah, inquired about the motorist’s name as part of the ticketing procedure. However, when the citizen explained that he unintentionally violated the traffic rule, Roman Shah, replaced his name on the ticket with offensive language.

In light of this incident, the citizen appealed to the SSP traffic to take strict action against such officers who tarnish the reputation of the traffic police.

Following the challan ticket’s circulation on social media, the SSP traffic initiated an inquiry, leading to the suspension of the official involved in the misconduct.
