The Islamabad Traffic Police have announced a series of traffic diversions and road closures across key arteries in the capital, urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and cooperate with law enforcement.
According to the police spokesperson, diversions are being implemented on Expressway and Srinagar Highway, with alternate routes arranged for traffic coming from Murree Road and Club Road towards the Red Zone. The entry of public transport onto these major highways has also been suspended, while motorists have been advised not to park at bus stops or service loops.
Authorities further confirmed that several key points, including Kashmir Chowk, Club Road to Zero Point on Srinagar Highway, and sections of Shakarparian Road up to Seventh Avenue, have been closed to traffic. Portions of Srinagar Highway between Zero Point and Srinagar Chowk will remain partially accessible via controlled flow arrangements.
Additional restrictions have also been placed on routes including Jinnah Avenue, Khayaban Chowk, Boulevardia, Faisal Chowk, Trail 3 Margalla Road, and surrounding corridors. The police have appealed to residents to remain patient, follow instructions, and avoid non-essential movement as traffic management measures remain in effect.
