Tragic bus accident near Medina claims 42 lives, including 11 children

MEDINA: A horrific accident occurred near the Holy Site Medina when a bus carrying Umrah pilgrims on its way from Mecca collided with a diesel tanker, killing 42 Indian pilgrims, including 11 children.

Indian media reports indicate that the bus was carrying 43 passengers in total, 16 of whom were from Hyderabad. The victims included 20 women and 11 children.

The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia has confirmed that it is actively investigating the incident and working to repatriate the bodies of the deceased to India. Authorities in Saudi Arabia are also coordinating emergency response and safety measures at the site of the crash.
