QUETTA: Jaffar Express train service remains suspended in Balochistan for the fifth day. Mobile internet services across several parts of Balochistan also remain suspended since yesterday due to security concerns. Both these measures have caused difficulties for the denizens of the province.
According to Pakistan Railways, the Jaffar Express, which operates between Quetta and Peshawar, has been suspended for the fifth consecutive day. Officials confirmed that the service will remain halted until November 13 (today). However, the suspension may be extended.
Additionally, the Bolan Mail service to Karachi has also been suspended. Railway authorities said that train operations from Balochistan to other provinces have been temporarily stopped “on the basis of operational and security reasons.”
Meanwhile, the Home Department has confirmed that mobile phone internet services have been suspended in most areas of Balochistan since yesterday, citing security concerns as the reason for the move.
The outage has disrupted communication across the province, with users expressing frustration over the prolonged suspension. Many residents in Quetta and other districts have reported difficulties in accessing essential online services and staying in touch with family members.
Authorities have not announced a timeline for the restoration of either train or internet services but said the measures were taken “to ensure public safety and maintain order.”
