Turkey announces Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Friday; other countries depend on witnesses

The government of Turkey announced on Wednesday that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated nationwide on Friday, March 20.

Similarly, Muslims in Singapore will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday, March 21, according to Singapore authorities.

The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have also urged residents across their countries to observe the crescent moon of Shawwal on the evening of Wednesday, March 18.

The UAE Moon Sighting Committee will give a detailed review of whether Eid will be observed, with the expected time at 6.32 pm.
