Security forces killed 12 militants linked to the Indian proxy group which is also called Fitna al-Hindustan in an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district on September 2, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out following intelligence reports of the presence of terrorists linked to India in the area. In a “timely and effective” action, security forces killed all 12 India-backed militants active in the area.
The ISPR said the terrorists’ hideout had been identified and, following surveillance, was destroyed in the operation. Ammunition and improvised explosive devices recovered from the militants were also destroyed on site.
A clearance operation is under way in the area to eliminate any remaining militants, the military’s media wing said. It added that the counter-terrorism campaign by security forces and law enforcement agencies under Azm-e-Istehkam would continue “at full pace,” with the security forces committed to continuing operations until terrorism backed and facilitated by foreign elements is eliminated from the country.
