ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to launch two new residential sectors in the capital aimed at providing housing for government employees and supporting urban expansion.
Officials said that Sectors F-12 and G-12 are expected to be formally launched later this month, offering residential plots to a broad range of beneficiaries, including public sector employees.
Officials said the initiative is intended to address housing shortages and facilitate planned development in Islamabad.
They said that the layout plan for Sector F-12 has already been prepared, while work on the layout plan for Sector G-12 is under way and is expected to be completed within the month.
The projects were approved by the executive board of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority last month, clearing the way for implementation.
Authorities are also expanding development work to other areas, with construction already under way in Sectors F-14 and F-15 on the instructions of the federal minister.
Officials said that the broader push reflects the government’s efforts to accelerate housing development in the capital and ease pressure on accommodation, particularly for government employees.
The new sectors are expected to improve access to housing and contribute to Islamabad’s planned urban growth.
