UAE VS PAK-A: Pakistan-A win by 9 wickets after routing UAE for 59 in ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup


ISLAMABAD: In the UAE vs PAK-A clash, Pakistan A gained a commanding 9 wickets victory over UAE after tightening their grip on today’s match from the very beginning as the 9th match of the ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup took place between UAE and Pakistan-A.

Earlier in the UAE vs PAK-A clash, the UAE were bowled out for a mere 59 runs in 18 overs, struggling to cope with Pakistan A’s disciplined bowling attack.

In Pakistan A’s chase, Maaz Sadaqat led the charge with a blistering 37 not out off 15 balls, smashing 4 fours and 3 sixes at an explosive strike rate of 246.67. Opener Muhammad Naeem contributed 6 runs before falling to Muhammad Rohid.

Wicketkeeper-batter Ghazi Ghouri supported the chase with unbeaten 8 off 10 balls, keeping the momentum steady as Pakistan A cruised towards the target.

For UAE, Muhammad Rohid claimed the lone wicket, finishing with 1/25 in 3 overs, while M. Irfan conceded 14 in his single over.

With Pakistan A needing just a handful of runs and nine wickets in hand, the match appears moments away from a decisive finish in their favour.

ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup standings

 The ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup continued to take shape on Sunday as the early leaders in both groups (A and B) strengthened their positions, while others struggled to keep their campaigns alive.

ACC Group-A Standings

In Group A of the ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup, Bangladesh-A topped the table after a dominant opening win, securing 2 points with an impressive +7.195 NRR. Afghanistan-A followed closely with 2 points as well, though with a modest +0.122 NRR. Sri Lanka-A, slipped to third after suffering a narrow defeat, despite showing promise. They hold a negative –0.122 NRR, while Hong Kong-A found themselves at the bottom with a steep –7.195 NRR.

In Group B, India-A led the standings with a commanding along with their +7.400 NRR. Their standing is reflecting a clinical all-round performance. The arch-rival of India, Pakistan-A also made a strong start, securing 2 points with a healthy +2.000 NRR.
