UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed arrives in Pakistan on official visit


WEB DESK: President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Pakistan on Friday on an official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, marking an important milestone in bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Emirati leader was accorded a warm and ceremonial welcome upon his arrival in Islamabad. Pakistan Air Force fighter jets presented a guard of honour and conducted a flypast as a gesture of respect for the visiting dignitary.

During his stay, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed is scheduled to hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with other senior Pakistani officials. The talks are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation and reviewing progress in key areas of mutual interest.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the visit is aimed at further deepening cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE in sectors such as trade, investment, energy and development. Officials believe the engagements will help explore new avenues for economic collaboration and reinforce the longstanding partnership between the two countries.

Pakistan and the UAE share close and historic ties rooted in mutual trust, people-to-people links and economic cooperation. Millions of Pakistanis live and work in the UAE, contributing significantly to the economies of both countries.

In view of the high-level visit, a public holiday has been declared in Islamabad, and special security and administrative arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of official engagements.

The visit is being seen as a reaffirmation of the strong and brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE, with expectations that it will pave the way for enhanced collaboration in the coming years.
