UK parliament praises Pakistan’s diplomatic role in US-Iran talks

Islamabad Talks Appreciation

Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between the United States and Iran were highlighted and praised in the Parliament of the United Kingdom, where a British lawmaker commended Islamabad’s role in promoting regional stability.

During a parliamentary session, Muhammad Afzal Khan spoke about Pakistan’s engagement in the Middle East, describing its efforts to de-escalate tensions between Washington and Tehran as a “leadership role” focused on prioritising peace.

He also raised a question to the British prime minister, asking how the United Kingdom is supporting Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving long-term and sustainable peace in the region.

The remarks come at a time when Pakistan’s mediation efforts are being closely observed internationally, as tensions continue to simmer in the Middle East. Islamabad has increasingly positioned itself as a key intermediary, working to bring both sides closer to dialogue.

Such discussions in the UK parliament reflect growing recognition of Pakistan’s diplomatic influence on the global stage, particularly in the context of facilitating engagement between the United States and Iran.
