UOH, Kyungdong University Global sign MoU to promote exchange programmes


UOH, Kyungdong University Global sign MoU

HARIPUR: The University of Haripur (UOH) and Kyungdong University Global (KDU Global), South Korea, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting academic collaboration, international student exchange, and joint research initiatives.

UOH Vice-Chancellor Prof Shafiq Ur Rehman and Kyungdong University Global President Prof John Lee signed the MoU on Thursday.

 UOH Registrar Riaz Muhammad along with the deans of various faculties attended the MoU ceremony, highlighting the institutional commitment to global engagement and academic excellence.

The MoU outlines key areas of collaboration, including student and faculty exchange programmes, credit transfer arrangements, short-term vocational and language training programs, and joint research projects. As part of the Global Student Mobility Project (GSMP), students from UOH will have the opportunity to study at KDU Global through structured programmes such as “1+3” and “2+2” at the undergraduate level, and “1+1” for graduate programmes.

Fields of study include artificial intelligence, smart computing, international business, hotel management, film production, and korean business convergence.

Students participating in exchange or credit transfer programmes will receive generous academic support, including a 100 per cent tuition scholarship for the first semester, with further scholarships based on individual university policies.

Both institutions have agreed to recognize earned credits and ensure academic continuity for students during their exchange period.

Additionally, the MoU encourages the organization of short-term training programs in English and Korean for academic purposes, as well as skill-based vocational courses in areas such as artificial intelligence, business, tourism, k-culture and more.

Prof Shafiq Ur Rehman said that this partnership with Kyungdong University Global is a major step forward in our commitment to internationalization.

It opens new doors for our students and faculty to engage globally learn from diverse perspectives and grow academically and professionally. “We look forward to a dynamic and productive collaboration that enhances the global standing of both institutions.”

Prof John Lee President of Kyungdong also expressed his optimism saying that we are honoured to welcome UOH into our global academic network.

“This MoU represents our shared vision of promoting high quality education research collaboration and cross cultural understanding. We are confident that this partnership will bring long term benefits to our students faculty and the wider academic community,” he said.

The MoU is initially valid for five years and will be automatically extended for another five years unless either party provides a formal notice of termination three months in advance.

This agreement marks a strong and promising beginning to a comprehensive academic partnership between two institutions dedicated to global learning and mutual advancement.
